Calculating with TF/TF2

Hi,

Currently I have a two interactive markers in the map frame. Now I want to the coordinates of a point on the line between them with a distance x from one of those points. Can TF/TF2 do that, if yes, how? Or do I have to do that myself?

Do I have to publish tf messages or can I calculate with non-published transforms internally somehow?
