ubuntu and kubuntu together

my laptop is Intel pentium dual cpu T3200 2gb ram toshiba. Can i setup ubuntu for ros and kubuntu for ns3 together. Will i have problem?

kubuntu is built on the same core as ubuntu. ROS should run on either.

Yep, can approve @tfoote s answer. I am running ROS on both ubuntu and kubuntu (different computers). ROS runs on Kubuntu without notable differences.....
