Kinect near mode

Hi,

I am currently using ubuntu 12.04 with hydro. Would like to ask if I am able to configure Kinect 360 to use the near mode? Or only the Kinect for Windows has it? Are they the same?

Is this git reliable? It is stated that I am able to configure to near mode using the package.

Please assist. Thank you.

Have you found an answer for this? I would also like to use near mode in combination with a Kinect 360, Hydro and Ubuntu 12.04. Did you try that git repository? We are using libfreenect (via sudo apt-get install) at the moment.
