Looking for a cheap WiFi robot

There is a very cool cheap WiFi enabled robots from http://www.ez-robot.com/. Is there anyone currently looking at interfacing their controllers and drivers for ubuntu/ROS. They unfortunately only work with windows right now.

I would like a humanoid robot that I can get telemetry for and send motor commands to for around $500. EZ fits this need except that it only runs on Windows. I want this primary as a learning platform.

http://www.trossenrobotics.com/ has a kit in the range, I believe. They have a lot of ROS support. From what I saw, ez-robot does not have much open-source stuff.
